Singer / Songwriter
Alisha Pillay is a singer/songwriter from Vancouver, BC. As a child, she would write melodies and lyrics over the instrumentals found on the backs of her favourite artists’ albums—unknowingly getting her first taste of toplining.
In 2005, Alisha won David Foster’s Opportunity of a Lifetime singing competition, which kickstarted her professional music career. She began collaborating with producers and writers around the world and writing music for artists, bands, film, and television. Her notable songwriting credits include Taiwanese pop group S.H.E. and Seungri of K-pop group BIGBANG.
In 2009, Alisha won a national radio competition that gave her the opportunity to have her debut single, “Convicted,” played on the radio. The song went on to gain momentum, earning national airplay and becoming a Top 40 hit on the Canadian Billboard chart. Her success earned her the CHUM Emerging Artist Award—achievements she accomplished independently, without label support. She followed with two more singles, “Love Drunk” and “Love You Out Loud,” before expanding her reach internationally. Her singles “Mayday” and “Tattoo” gained traction across European territories, while collaborations with DJs including Dannic, DJ Antoine, and Thomas Gold helped establish her presence in the international dance music scene.
After nearly a decade away from music, Alisha returned to music in 2026 and is currently preparing to release her upcoming EP later this year.
